Project Description
These photos show a woman in her early 30s before and after lower eyelid and cheek fillers. The photos were taken more than 1.5 years apart with the patient losing 35 pounds over this time period. The lighting isn’t perfect due to office renovations over this time period but the results still show through.⠀ ⠀ Women often love their bodies when they lose weight but hate the volume loss in their face. My instafriend and colleague @drjanellevega informs me that there is a saying for this in Spanish: “O cara o culo”, which translates to “your face or your butt”. You can have one or the other but it’s hard to make both areas look good.⠀ ⠀ Loss of cheek volume can be significant even after losing 5 pounds and often makes the under eye area look worse as well. Eye bags become more visible as the cheek fat under the eyes is lost.⠀ ⠀ This patient had puffiness under her eyes and some flattening of her cheeks even before she started losing weight. Fillers were used to blend the eyelid-cheek junction and add volume to her upper cheeks. We added additional volume as she started losing weight to maintain her results.⠀ ⠀ I think that you will agree she looks fantastic. Fillers are a great tool to help patients maintain and improve facial volume as they lose weight. Now she is happy with both her face and her body.⠀
