This page shows before and after photos of actual patients who have had upper and lower blepharoplasty surgery with Dr. Mitesh Kapadia.
After this type of eyelid surgery, patients often notice that they look younger and less tired. As with all surgery and treatments performed by Dr. Kapadia, the goal is always a natural look. Notice how patients look like a better version of themselves and do not look fake or overdone.
The eyes are usually the first thing notice when they look at a face and are often one of the first parts of the face to show signs of facial aging. Eyelid surgery alone can often make a dramatic improvement in overall appearance of a face, as seen in the examples below.
Patient 1 - Before and after full face CO2 laser resurfacing
These photos show a woman in her late 50s before and after a series of CO2 laser treatments. Three full face fractional CO2 laser treatments were performed over the course of two years. The after photo was taken six week after the last treatment, two years after the before photo.⠀
⠀
Before treatment, there is a significant amount of spotty surface pigmentation. Note how much the texture and coloration of her skin improve with the treatments. There is also a big improvement in the color of her under eye area. Her lower eyelid skin has a purple/red color before treatment which looks more like her other skin afterward.⠀
⠀
It’s only worth doing this type of laser if you make a real commitment to sun protection going forward. The cells that make the pigment are still hiding under the skin and will start producing melanin again when they are exposed to the sun. Most people have some reversion of the spots with time. Additional CO2 laser treatments or intense pulsed light (IPL) can be used to help maintain the results.⠀This laser requires 5-7 days of social down time.
Patient 2 - Before and two months after full face CO2 laser resurfacing
These photos show a woman in her early 60s before and after full face skin resurfacing with a fractional CO2 laser.⠀
⠀
The CO2 laser helps with skin texture, pigmentation and fine lines and also has a skin tightening effect. Zoom in to see the dramatic improvement in brown spots after the laser treatment.⠀
⠀
This patient had a single laser treatment but multiple treatments can have an even more dramatic effect. As with any laser, strict sun protection is needed to maximize the duration of the results.⠀
⠀
This type of laser is only for people with fair skin but there are other options including peels for pigmentation or microneedling for texture issues in darker skin types.⠀
⠀
This patient also had a Botox brow lift to elevate the inner corners of her brow to a create a more neutral facial expression.⠀
Patient 3 - Before and one month after Vi peel (chemical peel)
These photos show a woman in her early 40s before and six weeks after a Vi peel. This patient struggled with melasma and hyperpigmentation for many years. You can see the dramatic improvement in the pigmentation after her treatment , especially on her upper lip and forehead. Another peel is scheduled in the near future to maximize her results. As with any treatment for hyperpigmentation, reducing sun exposure and strict use of sunscreen is essential to maintain the results. ⠀
About CO2 laser resurfacing and chemical peels
Fractional CO2 laser resurfacing is a great procedure to reduce signs of sun damage such as brown spots. The laser also helps tighten skin and reduce fine lines. This type of laser can only be done on patients with lighter skin types, such as caucasian patients. Patients with darker skin types are best treated with other procedures such as chemical peels or radiofreqency microneedling. Instructions for CO2 laser patients are located in the articles section of this website.
